Hospice seeks support for Challenge 55
IT’S our 55th anniversary year so we’ve set you a challenge! Could you run or cycle around our beautiful hospice grounds in Thornton or, if swimming’s more your thing, take on our pool challenge – all on Sunday, October 1.
You can choose whether you’d like to run 5.5 miles, cycle 55 miles or swim 55 lengths? Better still, you could take on the ultimate challenge and do all three in our Challenge 55 Triathlon!
By taking part, you will be part of our 55th anniversary legacy as we try to raise £55,000 to help us to care for even more people through a wider range of support and clinical services over the next 55 years.
Get your colleagues, friends and family involved, sign up online at www. jospice.org.uk and get fundraising via our www.justgiving.com Challenge 55 page.
Julie McAdam, senior community fundraiser at St Joseph’s Hospice, said: “As a local charity, which provides end-of-life nursing care to over 200 people every year, we need to raise £8,750 every single day.
“During our special 55th Emerald Anniversary year, we’re appealing to our local community and local businesses to support us so we can continue providing this specialist care for the next 55 years.
“Please help us by registering for Challenge 55 on October 1.
“It’s a great way to raise sponsorship and set yourself a challenge too.’’
Julie added: “Don’t forget to let us know about your involvement by tweeting us @JospiceUK or sharing it with us on Facebook or Instagram.”
Registration for Challenge 55 is £10 per person, or £25 for the Challenge 55 Triathlon.
There is a minimum sponsorship required of £50.
