Town’s Hallowe’en festival is more gruesome than ever – ghoul love it!
AS we come towards the end of the summer season, we are already a step ahead and looking forward to the Autumn/Winter season in Southport.
There is no doubt the weather has not been on our side this year, but Southport has so much to offer beyond the last Bank Holiday of the year.
Of course the Air Show and Firework Championships are just round the corner and beyond that, our very own Hallowe’en Festival returns for its fourth year, but with a whole new format. We have packed the half term with some great events all designed to appeal to a broad age range and bring families into Southport for some great, free Hallowe’en entertainment.
The festival’s new dedicated website – spookysouthport.com – is now live and there are dozens of great events and performances.
Arachnophobes will have to look out for the 16ft spider puppet roaming the street!
We also have hot coal walking, ghoulish show performances and a very special Harry Potter day.
There is lots to look forward to and we hope to see lots of local businesses joining in the fun with their own events, offers and displays to make sure the whole town has a real sense of fun and excitement for families looking to fill the week off.
Everything kicks off with an independent horror film festival at The Atkinson, Friday, October 20.
As we draw nearer the end of our third year, we are looking to create focus or steering groups to help shape how the next two years look.
Any BID levy paying business owners with positive, constructive ideas and input to give should get in touch with us if they are interested.
The groups will review and evaluate current projects and help provide the seeds of future ones.
Each group will be targeted to something specific, for example, independents, retail and events.
If you are in interested and think you could really bring some great feedback and ideas to the table then please call or email.
