Go green for Hospice Care Week
COULD your school or workplace support us during this year’s national Hospice Care Week by wearing green for a day?
Hospice UK is the national charity for hospice care and they organise Hospice Care Week every October to raise the profile of hospice care across the UK.
This year, it all kicks off on Monday, October 9 and, as green is our hospice colour, we’re asking our local community and supporters to Go Green for St Joseph’s Hospice for one day during the week.
St Joseph’s Hospice is unique in that we care for patients who have been receiving one to one care here for months and in some cases for years.
This is what makes us different to any other hospice.
As a charity, our care is provided free of charge by our dedicated nursing team who look after all aspects of end of life care for over 200 patients every year.
The theme for this year’s Hospice Care Week is ‘We are hospice care’ so it’s also a great opportunity to show the many faces of hospice care and to share their inspiring stories. From nurses to volunteers, chefs to chaplains, corporate partners to carers. It’s about celebrating everyone involved in providing and supporting hospice care and that includes you – our community and fundraisers.
Please get your school or workplace involved and share your photos with us on social media @JospiceUK #WearGreen4HospiceCare.
