DARE you walk the fire to raise funds for Marie Curie?

The Marie Curie Southport Fundraising Group is organising a spooky Firewalk as part of this year’s Southport Hallowe’en Festival.

The event will take place outside The Atkinson, on Lord Street, on Saturday, October 28.

It is, as the name suggests, a barefoot walk over red-hot wood embers.

No tricks, no special effects. Just you and the fire. A full briefing will be provided by a professional firewalk company to give you the confidence and skills needed to conquer the coals. Participants need to be 16 or over to take part (parental consent needed if aged 16 or 17).

The non-refundable registration fee is £25, and includes a free Marie Curie T-shirt.

Once registered, they ask that all participants raise a minimum of £100 sponsorship each.

You can wear Hallowe’en fancy dress to take part, but no trailing garments are allowed.

All proceeds from the firewalk will support the work of Marie Curie.

Register on Eventbrite “Marie Curie Southport Firewalk” at www.walktickets-36647471574

All participants need to pre-register online and are asked to arrive for 3.30pm on the day for the briefing.

The firewalking will start at 5pm.
