“We are very grate­ful to ev­ery­one at South­port Com­edy Fes­ti­val and to the brave peo­ple who are tak­ing part.”

Bren Ri­ley, di­rec­tor of South­port Com­edy Fes­ti­val, ex­plained: “There is no bet­ter way to raise money than by rais­ing a smile, and that is what we aim to do.

“We are de­lighted to be work­ing with Com­mu­nity Link Foun­da­tion again as we have seen the ex­cel­lent causes that they help in the lo­cal area.”

Mez­za­nine Bar on Lord Street, South­port, is hold­ing a num­ber of events around Hal­lowe’en and Bon­fire Night and in the run up to these events they will be do­ing face paint­ing for the chil­dren.

Be­tween Oc­to­ber 25 and 28 there will be face paint­ing avail­able in the bar and they are not tak­ing pay­ment but in­stead are ask­ing peo­ple to make a do­na­tion to Com­mu­nity Link Foun­da­tion, so please show your sup­port and pop in.

On Hal­lowe’en and Bon­fire Night they will be serv­ing chilli or soup and a roll for £4.95.

HOULS and gig­gles are head­ing your way this Oc­to­ber to raise money for Com­mu­nity Link Foun­da­tion (CLF).CLF is de­lighted to have been cho­sen as the pre­ferred char­ity for South­port Com­edy Fes­ti­val’s Com­edy Work­shop Show­case for the fifth con­sec­u­tive year.This year, the event takes place at the Ra­mada Plaza on Sun­day, Oc­to­ber 21 and is set to be a cracker.The com­edy show­case brings to­gether 10 peo­ple from around the town and they are trained for six weeks by pro­fes­sional co­me­dian Bren Ri­ley.The ma­te­rial is all their own but Bren gives them point­ers and hints of how to per­form and es­sen­tially, how to make peo­ple laugh.At the end of the six weeks they have to per­form in front of 250 peo­ple!This year’s con­tes­tants in­clude Ash­leigh Mor­ris, Chris John­ston, David Ash, Dereck Lit­tle­john, Ian Clever­don, Nigel Mawd­s­ley, Mar­i­anne Hynes and Mark Cun­ning­ham.The event will see them per­form live com­edy for the first time and they’d be re­ally grate­ful of your sup­port.Money raised at the event will go to Com­mu­nity Link Foun­da­tion so it’s all for a good cause too.Enda Ry­lands, chair­man of Com­mu­nity Link Foun­da­tion said: “We are de­lighted to be the cho­sen char-
