Spe­cial screen­ing for Un­sung Hero

THE Plaza Com­mu­nity Cinema in Water­loo will host a spe­cial film screen­ing of Un­sung Hero: The Jack Jones Story this Thurs­day (Oc­to­ber 18).

This spe­cial event will cel­e­brate the life and times of Liver­pool’s own Jack Jones, for­mer leader of TGWU and the man be­hind the Na­tional Pen­sion­ers Con­ven­tion.

It is the re­sult of a part­ner­ship be­tween Liver­pool-based Hur­ri­cane Films, the Jack Jones Trust, Spirit of Shankly and UNI­SON’s Sefton Branch.

The evening will pay trib­ute to Jack Jones and fea­ture a ques­tion and an­swer ses­sion with the film’s di­rec­tor, Sol Pa­padopou­los, pro­ducer Roy Boul­ter, and Mir­ror writer Brian Reade.

All ticket monies raised will be dis­trib­uted to Fans Sup­port­ing Food­banks and the Pen­sioner’s Al­liance, both of which were causes close to the heart of Jack Jones.
