It’s great that our hos­pice is ‘Good’

WELL, it has turned out to be an in­cred­i­ble month for the hos­pice! We have been in a state of cel­e­bra­tion for two weeks now. First, with Hos­pice Care Week, which was such a fan­tas­tic suc­cess sup­ported by so many peo­ple who en­gaged with our “Heart My Hos­pice” cam­paign.

Last week, how­ever, was the ic­ing on the cake.

We re­ceived the news that the hos­pice has now been rated as “Good” by

The CQC also iden­ti­fied the pos­i­tive, open and trans­par­ent cul­ture at the hos­pice where staff felt val­ued and sup­ported.

Cre­at­ing this pos­i­tive work­ing en­vi­ron­ment was some­thing that was re­ally im­por­tant to the new se­nior man­age­ment team.

On the day of the CQC re­sult be­ing pub­lished, staff at the hos­pice came to­gether for a pho­to­graph on the lawn to mark this sig­nif­i­cant turn­ing point and a new be­gin­ning for the hos­pice.

“This is the re­sult of ev­ery­one’s hard work and ded­i­ca­tion over the last two years and we all feel in­cred­i­bly priv­i­leged to work here.”

This means that we have now jumped up two CQC rat­ings in just one year and we are all in­cred­i­bly proud of the hos­pice and what we have achieved.There is no doubt that the hos­pice has been on an in­cred­i­ble jour­ney over the last few years.There has been a great deal of nec­es­sary trans­for­ma­tion, but the team which has emerged is one which is pro­fes­sional, car­ing, highly-skilled and ready for the fu­ture.
