FACTFILE: RADIO ELECTRONIC TOKEN BLOCK

A stop board with a blue light indicates the end of each token section. This acts as a reminder to the driver to request the token before proceeding. A Points Indicator board is erected on the facing direction approach to a point. The board’s yellow light is illuminated when the point is closed. A Distant board gives advance notice that a loop is being approached. An AWS ramp is provided in advance of the notice to provide an extra level of safety, especially in bad weather.
