BASEBOARD JOINS

Once laid, weathered and ballasted, the only thing left to address is the baseboard joins. I used an electric drill with a slitting disc to cut through the sleepers and rails. I then used a needle file to clean up the cut ends of the rails before fitting fishplates onto each rail on one baseboard. The baseboards were then carefully paired, with the corresponding rails sliding into the fishplates.
