Model Rail is pleased to announce that the order book for our forthcoming ‘OO’ gauge LNER ‘J70’ 0‑6‑0T is now open. Rapido Trains’ engineers were due to finalise the CAD drawings shortly after this issue closed for press, but we can confirm that the model will have the following specification and detail options: Coreless motor Provision for sound Tension lock couplers in NEM pockets Sprung buffers, with two types of buffer shank where applicable Bufferbeam safety chains, where applicable Full sideplates, without sideplates and with cowcatchers only Two different styles of central lamp iron Two different nose end door catch styles Replacement cowcatchers with no coupling aperture Separate etch for two and three-bolt end mounting plates Choice of opened and closed end doors, to be fitted by the modeller Full retail price for the ‘J70’ will be £127.50. However, Model Rail subscribers will be able to take advantage of our 10% discount and can obtain the model for £114.75. Each livery/guise will be limited to 500 pieces.
