Sal­vador Dalí didn’t fre­quent any old club, but he did go to leg­endary NY disco Stu­dio 54. To cel­e­brate the 40th an­niver­sary of its open­ing, co-founder Ian Schrager and au­thor Bob Co­la­cello look back in words and pic­tures in Stu­dio 54 (pub­lished by Rizzoli In­ter­na­tional). Septem­ber 19 the pub­li­ca­tion of Inside Stu­dio 54 (Rare Bird Books) by Mark Fleis­chman, who bought the club in 1980, and Denise Chat­man.


Pho­tog­ra­pher Trevor Key, whose work in­cludes the cover of Mike Old­field’s Tubu­lar Bells, plus sleeves for New Or­der, Can, Sex Pis­tols, Peter Gabriel and more, is sub­ject of a new ex­hi­bi­tion at the Bro­drick Gallery in Hull. Trevor Key’s Top 40 will fea­ture 40 of his best record sleeves, made in con­junc­tion with tal­ents in­clud­ing Peter Sav­ille and Jamie Reid.


Nick Cave plays Lon­don’s 02 Arena, his first date in the cap­i­tal since 2013. It’s pre­ceded by shows in Bournemouth (24), Manch­ester (25), Glas­gow (27) and Not­ting­ham (28) and will be the first time UK au­di­ences can hear ma­te­rial from the Skele­ton Tree al­bum live. Con­certs in Europe and Is­rael fol­low in Oc­to­ber and Novem­ber.
