It’s a shame that Guy Pratt, when given the op­por­tu­nity to dis­cuss David Gil­mour, de­cided to pull the “who did what first” ar­gu­ment [MOJO 296]. You would think a pro­fes­sional mu­si­cian would know bet­ter than that. If he re­ally wants to put The Edge and Gil­mour to the test, The Divi­sion Bell was re­leased in 1994. Ach­tung Baby was re­leased in 1993. Boy, Oc­to­ber, War, Un­for­get­table Fire, and The Joshua Tree all came be­fore that. There is an aw­ful lot of triplet de­lay on those al­bums, well be­fore The Divi­sion Bell. I won­der if ei­ther of them ever thanked Les Paul? James Ad­kisson, via e-mail
