#4 Get snack-savvy
‘Toddlers generally need three meals a day and two snacks,’ says Jo. ‘If they’re snacking more than that, or filling up on too much milk throughout the day, they won’t be hungry for their meals.’ As a general rule of thumb, if your youngster is aged between one and three, it’s ok to leave two hours between eating, but never more than three hours. That means he’ll be hungry enough to eat, but not ravenous! It’s not a hard-and-fast rule, however – if he needs feeding, then give him something to eat! – but it will help you gauge how many snacks to aim for.
