If there’s one thing that’s go­ing to en­cour­age your child to en­joy food, it’s see­ing en­joy­ing food. What­ever you eat reg­u­larly, he’ll even­tu­ally be tempted to try. And re­search shows that eat­ing just one meal a week with your child will in­crease his in­take of fruit and veg. ‘When you model pos­i­tive eat­ing, you’re show­ing your child that the food in front of him is safe and plea­sur­able,’ says Jo. ‘There’s no stress, no pres­sure – there’s just the un­spo­ken mes­sage that eat­ing is a nat­u­ral, fun thing to do. So, sit down with your tod­dler and eat the foods you want him to tuck into in the fu­ture, and make sure you let him know how tasty they are!’
