Former British Touring Car driver Lea Wood will make a fulltime switch to the Pickup Truck Racing series this year.

The 31-year-old impressed during a oneoff outing at Thruxton last year, taking a win and a second place.

Wood will now race in the whole series in 2016, teaming up with Dave Longhurst, his BTCC engineer. “I’m really looking forward to this new challenge,” said Wood. “When I knew the opportunities in the BTCC weren’t there for me this was always a strong option and it made sense to embark on this journey with Dave [Longhurst]. Everything has really fallen into place and it is exciting to see how we as a team get on against some real established stars.

“I’m quite confident going into the circuit rounds as they are tracks I have competed at before but I am even more excited to be racing around the Rockingham oval.”
