Pidgley makes Ciceley Renault Clio Cup move
MSA Formula driver Ollie Pidgley will join the Renault UK Clio Cup with Ciceley Motorsport this year.
Pidgley is confident he can deal with the extra attention that racing for the British Touring Car squad could bring.
“There will be an expectation because it’s Ciceley, but that will come from outside,” he said. “I don’t see it as a pressure, but I know I need to deliver.
“It’s very exciting to be part of Ciceley’s first season in the Clio Cup and they are making sure it is linked very strongly with their BTCC operation at race events.”
The 18-year-old had a difficult campaign in MSA Formula in 2015, finishing 21st in the points after a part-season. But Ciceley team principal Russell Morgan said he has shown promise.
“He has a mature head on his young shoulders and is clearly talented and determined – traits that have convinced us he is our kind of driver,” said Morgan.
