The BRSCC’S Open Sportscar Series will run a new loyalty scheme, which could offer drivers free race entries.

OSS Championship organisers have scheduled a five-round calendar for 2016, and will reward drivers with free entries for the season finale at Silverstone depending on how many rounds of the championship they enter.

Drivers entering the first four rounds of the series will receive free entry to the finale, worth £450. Drivers doing three of the first four will receive a 75 per cent discount on that figure, while anyone doing two rounds will get the entry fee half price.

OSS coordinator Alan Jenkins said: “We’ve secured a sponsorship deal for the final round with Speed Group, so we have bought the grid at Silverstone and are now able to give something back to our competitors.

“We averaged 18 cars per round this year, and we want to encourage more cars out of garages to contest each round, but this scheme also rewards those drivers that can only afford to pick and choose which rounds they do.”
