HRDC con­tin­ues to grow with ex­panded cal­en­dar for this sea­son

Six­teen races at nine meet­ings in 2016 will give the His­toric Rac­ing Driv­ers’ Club its most am­bi­tious cal­en­dar to date.

Cre­ated in 2011 by Julius Thur­good, the HRDC will again fo­cus on races for cars from the 1950s and early 1960s, with five grids: Tour­ing Greats (pre-’60 tour­ing cars), HRDC All­stars (pre’66 sports, GT and tour­ing cars), the HRDC Academy (Austin A35s), the ‘BTCC Cel­e­bra­tion’ (pre-’66 tour­ing cars) and the A-se­ries Chal­lenge (pre-’66 sports, GT and tour­ing cars with A-se­ries en­gines).

HRDC races will fea­ture at Sil­ver­stone GP (April 2), Brands Hatch Indy (April 10), Don­ing­ton Park (May 1/2 and Oc­to­ber 15), Oul­ton Park (May 21), Snet­ter­ton (June 12), Cas­tle Combe (July 16 and Oc­to­ber 1), and Thrux­ton (Septem­ber 24).
