Top Escort Mk1 to return after smash
Three years after it rolled down the hillside in Kielder, the ex-jeremy Easson Ford Escort Mk1 will return to the stages in the hands of Mark Tugwell.
Mark and his brother Tim were lucky to emerge from a massive accident on the 2013 Carlisle Stages and have spent two years rebuilding the car with an ex-rikki Proffitt shell.
Easson took the car to third place on the 2005 R.A.C. Rally and was heading for victory a year later when the throttle linkage fell apart on the final stage.
Steve Pugh will co-drive Tugwell for a campaign on the gravel rounds of the MSA BHRC. Tugwell will commute from his farm in France to the rallies.
