A four-event challenge for BMW E36 318TI Compacts is in the offing for 2016.

The closed-to-club series will be run by Broughton-bretton Motor Club and BMW specialist Rallyprep – which will offer kits for the cars. Cars must be built to the Rallyprep specs.

Co-driver and Challenge co-ordinator Brynmor Pierce said: “Throughout the year we’ve been hearing more and more people wanting to bring the fun factor back, nothing says fun more than rear-wheel drive. The challenge isn’t aimed as a stepping stone, purely and simply it’s a place for like-minded people in identical machines to have fun.”

Pierce will field interested parties up until January 16 when the series is due to be formalised. MN understands that the series will open with a road rally, followed by two single-venue events and a forest rally decider.
