Roland Llewellin scores an Evo for his BRC2 bid
BTRDA regular Roland Llewellin will step up to the British Rally Championship in 2016 in a Mitsubishi Lancer E10.
Llewellin competed in the N4 category in a Group N Lancer E9, but has decided that now is the time to step up to the British championship. The car will be prepared by SW Motorsport.
“I’ve always wanted to do the BRC and this year with it going back to four-wheel drive we thought it would be a real challenge to have a go at it,” said Llewellin.
“I like the idea of making your own pacenotes and doing the recce. This is a real plus over organisers’ notes, especially if you don’t have experience of the stages being used.”
Llewellin will compete on the Cambrian in February, along with selected BTRDA rounds with experienced navigator and Manxman Mark Perryman.
Llewellin added: “We are doing the Cambrian and will probably do one or two other BTRDA rounds. Last year the competition was intense in Group N. Hopefully it will be the same in the BRC!”
