For its third season, the FIA World Rallycross Championship will head to 12 rounds on its world tour. We may be biased, but surely the best option is the home of rallycross, Lydden Hill.
While there won’t be any Metro 6R4s or Ford RS200S – not in the main competition anyway – 2016 promises to be the best season yet. Petter Solberg emerged as champion for the second successive year last time around, but a host of improving and new drivers should push the Norwegian harder than ever. Solberg could also struggle if he doesn’t receive manufacturer backing in 2016, with strong entries from both Volkswagen and Peugeot.
If the two-second 0-60mph time and completely sideways action doesn’t get you going, the heats, semi-finals and final format certainly will. Make sure you get there early as Lydden isn’t the biggest venue and can get a bit cramped. The Devil’s Elbow can be a great place to watch from.
