THRUXTON: CLASSIC SPORTS CAR CLUB
The Classic Sports Car Club has been running some of the finest national race meetings going for a few years now, but one will be particularly special next season.
Thruxton is one of the best, but sadly due to strict noise restrictions, lesser-used racing circuits in the UK. It can be tough for clubs to get a date at the Hampshire speedbowl, which is known as being the fastest track in the country.
This August the CSCC has its first ever standalone date there, and it should be pretty spectacular to witness first-hand.
CSCC meetings feel special due to the blend of the contemporary and historic machinery they attract. One race can stage modern tin-tops such as Citroen Saxos and BMW M3s, then the next some bellowing 1960s classics.
Perhaps the highlight will be the return of Special Saloons and Modsports to the venue. These highly modified machines are always spectacular to watch and hear, and the fast sweeps of Thruxton should be a perfect stage.
