Newyear of possibilities
There’s plenty of motorsport to look forward to in 2016
Putting together our Must-see list is always tricky. Quite apart from there being plenty of candidates, there’s also the balance to strike between including the obvious (but necessary) and picking something a little different.
One thing that did strike me about our list this year is the number of date clashes. It’s not a new problem, but planning which events to go to (and, indeed, which events to enter if you are a competitor) doesn’t seem to get any easier.
The positive side to all this motorsport, however, is that there is plenty of quality action to choose from. Even if your favourite series is having a bad season, there is always the chance to take a look at something new. And I would recommend you do. Having been to my first rallycross and drag racing events in 2015, settling on my own 2016 list is almost impossible!
On the subject of lists, we enjoyed deciding on our top 10 racing BMWS. The German firm has been a great supporter of motorsport over the years; here’s hoping it does choose to return to Le Mans with a full-blown prototype programme sometime soon... Kevin Turner, Editor (Twitter: @KRT917)
