En­tries for the open­ing round of the MSA Bri­tish His­toric Rally Cham­pi­onship, the Red Kite Stages on Sun­day Fe­bru­ary 21, are build­ing quickly. The first 20 his­toric en­tries were taken by Christ­mas and the event is ex­pected to fill up rapidly in the New Year. The Llan­dovery-based rally will in­clude one spe­cial stage not used for many years.

... so is Leg­end rally Over 230 en­tries have al­ready been lodged for the Leg­end Boucles his­toric rally in Bel­gium (Fe­bru­ary 20/21). A max­i­mum of 300 cars will start the Bas­togne-based event, which in­cludes a day of gravel ral­ly­ing on the Sun­day. Bri­tish en­tries in­clude Paul Grif­fiths in his Ford Es­cort Mk2 in only his se­cond rally since the end of 2014.

Cole­man re­united Ir­ish ral­ly­ing leg­end Billy Cole­man will be re­united with a fa­mous old car of his for the Cir­cuit of Ire­land Deja Vu event at Easter. Cole­man will get the chance to drive the Ford Es­cort Mk1 ‘MEV 36J’ that he used to win the 1974 Bri­tish Rally Cham­pi­onship. The ex-hannu Mikkola car is now owned and ral­lied by Ir­ish­man Mark Falvey.

Ginetta for sale The ex-peter Creasey Ginetta G12 from 1967 will be a no­table car go­ing un­der the ham­mer at the Coys auc­tion at Au­tosport In­ter­na­tional. Chas­sis G12/3 has more re­cently been re­stored by Ian Mcdon­ald and raced in the Guards Tro­phy last sea­son. Around 30 G12s were built in pe­riod and the Lotus twin cam-en­gined car’s guide price is £45,000 to £55,000.
