MN is sad to re­port the death of 1960s sportscar racer, John Cound­ley, who died re­cently aged 91. Cound­ley raced through the 1950s but came to promi­nence in the 1960s when he twice won the Mar­tini Tro­phy at Sil­ver­stone. He headed Jackie Ste­wart and Jack Brab­ham to win the 1964 La­vant Cup at Good­wood in a Lotus 19 and later raced a Mclaren M1A be­fore re­tir­ing in 1966.
