Salvador Du­ran will race for Team Aguri in For­mula E for the rest of this sea­son. The Mex­i­can will re­place Nathanael Berthon who has split from the team. Du­ran was due to race for Trulli but did not test and lost his drive due to a “breach of con­tract” be­fore the team’s with­drawal from the se­ries… GP2 racewin­ner Arthur Pic has switched to the Ra­pax team for his third year in the cat­e­gory. The French­man pre­vi­ously drove for Cam­pos and de­spite win­ning at the Hun­garor­ing last year he could only man­age 11th in the stand­ings. “I wanted to be part of a fron­trun­ning team that can chal­lenge for the ti­tle, and Ra­pax has shown over the years they have the pedi­gree to de­liver very strong re­sults,” said Pic… A round of the In­ter­con­ti­nen­tal GT Chal­lenge se­ries at Austin in March has been can­celled af­ter a lack of in­ter­est from Euro­pean teams. The new-for-2016 cat­e­gory, or­gan­ised by SRO, was due to have a 1000km race in the US this year but its in­tro­duc­tion will now be post­poned to 2017. This leaves three events – at Bathurst, Spa and Sepang – for the in­au­gu­ral sea­son… Pri­va­teer LMP1 team Re­bel­lion will field an un­changed two-car line-up in the World En­durance Cham­pi­onship this year.
