Ginetta Junior race winner Billy Monger will switch to MSA Formula this year with JHR Developments.

The 16-year-old finished fifth in the Ginetta standings last season, but will now graduate to single-seaters after impressing in a test at the end of 2015.

“I’m delighted to sign Billy to our MSA Formula team,” said JHR boss Steven Hunter. “We had Billy racing with us last year and he certainly showed some serious promise. He tested in an MSA Formula car at the end of last season and his pace was at that of a very experienced single-seater driver. I’ve no doubt Billy will be very quick this year as he showed exceptional pace in that test.”

Monger will join Sennan Fielding and Jack Butel at JHR in MSA Formula this season and Hunter adds it should “be a very good team” with all of them having experience of racing with the squad already. ● Fellow Ginetta Junior graduate Frank Bird will join Monger in MSA Formula this year. The 16-year-old will drive for Fortec Motorsports, completing the squad’s four-car line up.
