Rob Boston signs karter for Ginetta attack
Rob Boston Racing will move into the Ginetta Junior Championship for the first time this year, running karter Greg Johnson in the series.
The team has previously raced in the Ginetta GT4 Supercup with Tom Wrigley and it was through him that this deal came about. RBR has also fielded multiple Mazda MX-5 and Lotus Elise cars in club classes.
Johnson has raced at the Rednal kart track, which Wrigley owns, and he recommended the 14-year-old should switch to Juniors.
“He will probably be the least experienced driver on the grid as he has done very little karting so he’ll be going straight in at the deep end,” said Boston. “We have no immediate plans for any other drivers in the series, we’ve not actively looked for drivers – Greg came to us.
“The Junior car is like a scaled-down Ginetta Supercup car. It’s a nice car and I’m excited for this season.”
