Rally star Robert Barrable will partner 17-year-old Wilson Thompson in the second Team Hard Ginetta G55 GT4 in British GT this season.

Barrable is a former Irish Formula Ford 1600 champion and also contested selected rounds of the Volkswagen Racing Cup with the team.

“I’m really looking forward to working with Tony again and taking on British GT,” said Barrable. “I’m hoping we can get straight into the thick of it and perform consistently.

“Sharing a car with another driver is a new challenge for me and the length of each race will take some getting used to.”

Thompson finished second in the Ginetta Junior Ireland points in 2014 and planned to race in Irish Formula Ford last season but suffered a massive crash at Kirkistown early in the year.

“He went over the bank and broke his back in six places,” said Thompson’s father Robert. “He was out of racing for most of 2015. It’s just six weeks since he’s been allowed to go back to the gym. This is a big, big challenge.”

The other Team Hard car will be driven by Jordan Stilp and William Phillips.
