Combe Saloons to have first away round for decade
The Castle Combe Saloon Car Championship will hold a race away from the Wiltshire track for the first time in over a decade this season.
Series organisers have booked a non-championship event at Donington Park on a British Automobile Racing Club meeting onjune 18. The move has been made after competitor demand for an away fixture. It is non-championship as the series’ official calendar and regulations had already been ratified by the MSA.
Castle Combe Racing Club’s Jo Lewkowicz said: “A number of drivers have asked about racing somewhere different and Donington had a spare slot on that meeting so we went for it.
“It will be a single 20-minute race with 15 minutes qualifying and is open to any saloon cars fitting our regulations. We already have 30 people’s names down for it and a maximum grid of 40 cars so it could become a regular fixture in future seasons.”
