Double F1 world champion Mika Hakkinen will make his first appearance at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting next month.

Hakkinen will join Jochen Mass in a pair of 1950s Silver Arrows in a demonstration run on Saturday. The two grand prix racers will drive a Mercedes-benz W196 and its ‘streamliner’ counterpart.

Mass, a regular at the event, believes it will be a major spectacle: “The W196 is an incredible car, it helped [Juan Manuel] Fangio to back-to-back titles in 1954 and ’55 and I promise that Mika and I will put on a show for the spectators.”

The paddock display will also feature a third Silver Arrow, a Mercedes-benz W25 GP contender from 1935.
