Snowman by name, Snowman by nature. The opening round of this year’s ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championship lived up to its name and provided a remarkable first outright victory for Donnie Macdonald and Andrew Falconer. At the start of the event last Saturday morning, winning was the furthest thought from their minds. A top 10 was the aim, a top six the hope. A win was merely the dream.

At the rally finish, if there were any doubters, the takings in the Jurys Inn bar on Saturday night must surely have assured the hotel’s continued sponsorship of the Arnold Clark/ Jurys Inn Snowman Rally next year.
