Cater­ham launches new Turk­ish se­ries

Cater­ham has ex­panded its in­ter­na­tional cham­pi­onship range by start­ing a new se­ries in Turkey.

The Bri­tish man­u­fac­turer will sup­port the new class, which will run over 13 races at the Istanbul Park Cir­cuit – for­merly the home of the Turk­ish Grand Prix.

The cham­pi­onship will utilise Cater­ham’s 180bhp Su­perlight R300 model, and so far 20 cars have been sup­plied. The sea­son be­gins in April.

The new se­ries is the fourth in­ter­na­tional ex­pan­sion from Cater­ham, fol­low­ing the start of its Colom­bian and Malaysian se­ries last year and its French cham­pi­onship.

Cater­ham’s mo­tor­sport head Si­mon Lambert said: “It is in­cred­i­bly re­ward­ing and ex­cit­ing to bring our unique brand of ex­hil­a­rat­ing rac­ing to an­other new au­di­ence.”
