The three BRDC British Formula 3 teams that fielded just two cars in the season opener at Snetterton last weekend are all considering running a third driver in future rounds.

Fortec Motorsports and Lanan Racing both have a third car available, while Douglas Motorsport could buy an additional Tatuus-cosworth.

Fortec boss Richard Dutton said: “Hopefully we will have three cars for the next round. We are talking to two or three drivers at the moment.”

Lanan team principal Graham Johnson added: “We’ve still won the championship twice and Toby [Sowery] running at the front showed what we can do.”

Douglas Motorsport will see how it performs in the first few rounds before deciding whether to buy a third car and sign another driver.

The other five teams – Carlin, Double R, HHC Motorsport, Chris Dittmann Racing and Sean Walkinshaw Racing – all ran three cars at Snetterton.
