Marshall Vauxhall targets Goodwood
Aston Martin racer Tom Alexander plans to race what is thought to be the ex-gerry Marshall/peter Brock Vauxhall Magnum after buying it for £82,000 at the Goodwood auction.
Alexander says that the car is destined for his son James, 14, who is currently racing karts.
Alexander Sr said: “£82,000 is a bargain. It is remarkably cheap for a car with enough history to get into Goodwood when Capris and suchlike sell for over £100,000.
“I know it’s a few years away but I’m hoping he will drive it in the Gerry Marshall Trophy race at Goodwood in the future.”
Marshall and Brock raced the Bill Blydenstein-built Dealer Team Vauxhall car to second overall in the 1977 Spa 24 Hours.
