Beechdean gets Turner for ELMS
Beechdean Motorsport has drafted in Aston Martin factory driver Darren Turner for this weekend’s European Le Mans Series opener, with pro driver Jonathan Adam prioritising British GT.
Turner will race Beechdean’s AMR Vantage GTE alongside team owner Andrew Howard and Alex Macdowall in Saturday’s first round at Silverstone. Adam was due to race the car, but with British GT taking place on the same weekend at Brands Hatch, the Scotsman has to be in Kent to qualify with the TF Sport team.
Adam will then do double duty in both the two-hour British GT race on Sunday and the six-hour FIA WEC event at Silverstone.
Turner, who shared a Vantage GT3 with Howard in British GT in 2010, said: “It will be fun driving with Andrew again but ELMS looks strong so we will be in for a hard-fought race.”
