Giddings to join Renault UK Clio Cup at Thruxton as Finesse gives Streather a team-mate
Former British GT4 champion Jake Giddings will race in the Renault UK Clio Cup at Thruxton next month with Finesse Motorsport.
The 21-year-old will join Paul Streather in the team at the Hampshire circuit, but his main focus will still be a GT4 campaign alongside Kieran Griffin in a Jwbird Aston Martin.
Giddings has already completed several tests in the Clio, most recently in the TOCA support test day at Thruxton last week.
“Paul is doing really well in the championship and needs a team-mate to help him out,” said team boss Neil Giddings. “With Thruxton being a fast circuit you need to get a tow from another car.
“Jake can’t really do the whole championship [because of British GT] but he might do another round later in the year.”
Giddings Sr added that he was looking for another driver to fill the second seat for the rest of the season as it would benefit Streather – who took a win and a fourth at the Brands Hatch opener.
