Ingram eyes wins after resurgent Circuit debut
Chris Ingram is hoping to give Opel its first major gravel win with the Adam R2 after a strong debut on the Circuit of Ireland.
The 21-year-old – carrying Andrews Heat for Hire logos on his Opel debut – finished second after struggling for confidence on the first day. He scored three fastest times on the Saturday to beat team-mate Marijan Griebel and finish behind Lukasz Pieniazek.
“To come away with second is a massive bonus and a perfect result championshipwise going into the Azores, where I’ll aim to defend my junior victory from last year,” said Ingram.
“The first day was one of the biggest challenges of my career, adapting to the new surroundings in such poor weather conditions, and we were under strict orders to get to the finish of the rally.”
The Junior category visits Azores as its next round on June 2-4.
