Simes to race rebuilt Cooper S
Former single-seater racer Barry Sime will join his father Jimmy to race a Mini Cooper S in historic events this season, starting with the U2TC race at the Donington Historic Festival.
Jimmy has owned the 1964 Mini since he raced it at Ingliston in the late 1960s and the Scottish team has now rebuilt it to historic specification.
“It’s taken a while to get it finished but the end result is worth it,” said Barry. “It’s a car he has owned since he raced it at Ingliston and Croft back then, so it has a lot of personal history.”
A programme in U2TC and Historic Touring Car events is now planned.
