In the first race, Wil­lis grabbed the lead on lap three and was never headed there­after, although Tomp­kins pres­sured him hard through­out the 25-lap con­test. Reign­ing cham­pion Michael Smith claimed third af­ter fend­ing off a hard-charg­ing Gavin Mur­ray.

Tomp­kins looked set to be de­nied vic­tory again in a red-flag in­ter­rupted race two when young­ster Fred­die Lee snatched his lead five laps from home. Yet, there was to be another twist. En­ter­ing Turn 4 on the last lap, Tomp­kins dived inside Lee and won the drag to the line by a mere 0.059 sec­onds.

Ir­ish­man O’re­gan beat Smith and Tomp­kins to the flag in a breath­less race three af­ter charg­ing through from the fourth row and grab­bing the lead on the penul­ti­mate lap. Less than a sec­ond cov­ered the top five at the end.

While there was a trio of dif­fer­ent win­ners in the Pickup races, any one of three driv­ers could have won the sole MG BCV8 Cham­pi­onship con­test. James Wheeler led be­fore be­ing over­hauled by Ol­lie Neaves on lap eight. Russell Mccarthy also found his way past Wheeler shortly af­ter and homed in on Neaves as the race con­cluded, but to no avail.
