Hall gets Drive DMACK co-driving seat for ’16
MSA Academy co-driver Phil Hall will compete in the full Drive DMACK Fiesta Trophy this year with Kenyan Karan Patel.
Hall recently left Toyota by mutual consent after guiding Hiroki Arai to a podium on the Arctic Lapland Rally, and will now join Patel, who is managed by 1999 British Rally champion Tapio Laukkanen.
“It’s great to be doing world championship events again,” said Hall. “It’s a really good championship and it’s a good opportunity for young drivers and co-drivers like myself to learn and develop experience.”
Hall is hoping his ambitious nature will come through when competing in front of WRC teams.
“There are a lot of capable co-drivers out there but if you can demonstrate how much you want to be there, that will count for a lot,” he added.
Hall won his class on the only WRC event he has competed on – Rally Australia – with Rhys Pinter, and in a last-minute deal Hall will rejoin the Australian in a one-off outing in the British Rally Championship this weekend for the Pirelli Carlisle.
Pinter’s co-driver Mark Swallow has damaged his foot.
