Hillclimb competitor Goodyear switches to racing with Lotus 59
After 25 years competing on the hills, Mark Goodyear has switched to racing with the ex-anthony Ross Lotus 59.
Goodyear lives only two miles from Shelsley Walsh in Worcestershire. He competed in Clubmans cars and single-seaters in hillclimbs, sharing the cars with his wife Annie.
Goodyear decided to finally try his hand at racing and has joined the Classic Racing Car grid in the 1600cc twin-cam powered Lotus.
“It is just a total change of scene and a massive learning curve,” said Goodyear. “Every track is new to me and it is a stunning car.”
After a couple of outings late last season, he is now planning a fuller programme this year.
