A group of Argentinean enthusiasts have shipped a 1929 Ford V8-based special to the UK to race with the Vintage Sports-car Club this season.

Nicknamed the Rocketford, the special is based on a Ford Model A chassis. It was raced at Silverstone by Torcuato Iriarte and Christian Henriksen. “The car only arrived on Tuesday,” said Iriarte, who was eighth in the GP Itala and Lanchester Trophy race. “It’s the first time the car has run in Europe.”

They now plan to leave the car in the UK and return later in the season for more VSCC races. It ran as a single-seater and a sportscar Silverstone. Henriksen was 12th in the Fox and Nicholl Trophy.
