Perkins snaps up Tojeiro Bristol racer
A rare 1952 Tojeiro Bristol will race this season in the hands of new owner Neil Perkins.
One of only three such cars believed to have been built, the Tojeiro was driven by Cliff Davis but is not thought to have raced since the 1950s. “It was built as a racer, but it was later used on the road,” said Perkins, who has had it restored.
Perkins’ car is a sister car to the well-known ‘LOY 500’ and a third car is in Italy where it has run in the Mille Miglia.
After selling his RGS Atalanta, Perkins now plans to race the Tojeiro but was denied a start at Silverstone last Saturday after transmission issues in qualifying.
