Short Rock

British GT ran on the shorter Rockingham layout for the first time in five years last weekend. The championship usually runs on the 2.05-mile International Super Sportscar Long variant, but reverted to the 1.9-mile configuration for the first time since 2011. “Most teams do their testing on the shorter track so we decided to race on it to make their data relevant,” said British GT manager Benjamin Franassovici. “We had a few instances with traffic in the race, but Rockingham is wide enough for overtaking. It seemed popular with most.”
