Norris set to miss three British F3 rounds
BRDC British Formula 3 ace Lando Norris will skip a further two rounds of the championship this year, ruling himself out of the title chase.
Norris is dovetailing his British F3 commitments with his campaign in the Formula Renault Eurocup with Josef Kaufmann Racing. Norris already skipped the F3 tripleheader at Brands Hatch earlier this month to race at Aragon, where he won two races.
There is a further clash between F3’s fourth round at Oulton Park and the FR Eurocup event at Monaco, and Norris will also skip the penultimate F3 event at Snetterton in August to race in the Frenault Northern European Cup at Assen.
“It’s a hugely busy year for me and it’s a shame I won’t be doing the full F3 championship but I’m focusing on Frenault in Europe,” said Norris.
“We looked at the possibility of doing both Monaco and Oulton [Eurocup races on Sunday May 29, whereas F3 races Saturday and Monday], but it didn’t work out and would have been a distraction for both championships.”
Carlin is in talks to run Colton Herta as Norris’s replacement for the F3 rounds.
