Ex-patrese Arrows to race in hands of single-seater ace Brashaw
Hard-charging historic single-seater racer Jamie Brashaw will step up to Historic F1 this season in an ex-riccardo Patrese Arrows A1.
Brashaw, who has progressed up through Classic F3 and Historic F2, acquired the car at the end of 2014 but did not run it on track until the demonstration sessions at the Goodwood Members’ Meeting in March. His first planned race is at Brands Hatch at the end of May.
The 1978 chassis, also raced by Jochen Mass the following season, was more recently raced by Steve Allen and the deal included Allen taking over Brashaw’s F2 March 782.
“It’s fantastic,” said the Rotherham driver. “I’m excited about racing it but it has been quite a while getting it right.”
Brashaw, who runs the car with his father Ian, will also race in Historic F2 in his Chevron B25.
