Masters FIA Historic Formula 1 frontrunners Steve Hartley and David Abbott have added a Lotus Cortina to their fleet and plan to race the car at the same events.

The car was a period race car in the US and has now been prepared by Norfolkbased Mirage Engineering, the team responsible for their F1 cars.

“I’ve never driven anything like it and it is just a bit of fun,” said Hartley. “It’s pretty standard at the moment and it will take a bit of getting used to,” said the Arrows A4 racer. To date, Hartley has only ever raced single-seaters.

The two Historic F1 racers will be joined in the car during the season by Brian Donnan.
