It’s a healthy 50-50 split between asphalt and gravel this week in our illustrious TV guide. Contrary to popular belief, it’s the real jewel in MN’S crown..

Kicking off, the GT Cup ( pictured above) got underway at Donington Park. It’s the first chance to see the series in action this year, with Bentley and Porsche splitting the wins (Wednesday, 18552000hrs, Motors TV).

Sticking with circuit racing, the 750 Motor Club delivered a great meeting at Brands Hatch recently, as it usually does. The club often produces close competition and, at one of Britain’s most storied venues, it was always going to deliver (Thursday, 17201925hrs, Motors TV).

This week the Acropolis Rally returns to a rejigged European Rally Championship calendar. Out of the ordinary weather shortened last year’s season-concluding event, but an earlier slot on the calendar should provide the dusty gravel we’re used to seeing from one of the best rallies in the world. Catch daily highlights on Saturday (0015-0045hrs, Eurosport 2), Sunday (0000-0030hrs, Motors TV) and a Tuesday round-up (tba).

Finally, a chance to catch the latest round of the British Rallycross Championship at Lydden Hill is on offer. The second round of the series delivered door-banging action in usual fashion (Wednesday, 21002205hrs, Motors TV).
